The dogs are listed in the Guinness Book of World Records

Some pet dogs are in the Guinness Book of Records thanks to their unusual size, while others are known for their incredible skills.

Bisbee (3 years old, Setter breed) from the US city of Tucson was recently recognized as the living dog with the longest tongue in the world. At 9.49 cm long, its tongue is longer than a popsicle and sticks out of its mouth like a piece of ham when panting.

Previously, this record belonged to a female dog named Mochi (of the St. Bernard breed), from the US state of Dakota, with a tongue 18.58 cm long. Mochi held the record for five years before dying in 2021.

In 2011, a dog named Zeus (of the Great Dane breed) won the title of tallest dog in the world with a height of up to 1.1 m at the shoulder and 2.23 m when standing on two legs.

According to pet owner Denise Doorlag who lives in Otsego, Michigan, USA, Zeus eats 14 kg of food a day and weighs 70 kg. He died in 2014, not long after turning 6 years old, but to date no dog has surpassed that height.

The record for the longest ears in a dog was set in 2004 by a sniffer dog named Tiger of the Bloodhound breed. Its left and right ears are 34.2 and 34.9 cm long, respectively. Tiger died in 2009 but this record still stands today.

An Irish wolfhound named Keon set a Guinness record in 2015 with the world’s longest tail: 76.7 cm. This length is calculated from the beginning of the tail bone to the end of the tail bone and does not include hair. Keon lives with owner Ilse Loodts in the municipality of Westerlo in Belgium.

The highest jump ever recorded in a dog was 191.7 cm. This record was set by Feather, a female Greyhound dog from the US state of Maryland, in 2018.

In 2020, a golden retriever named Finley Molloy in Canandaigua, New York, USA set a Guinness record for holding the most tennis balls in his mouth. Finley can pick up and hold six standard-sized tennis balls at the same time.

Another talented dog listed in the Guinness Book of Records is Norman, a Briard sheepdog living in Canton, Georgia, USA. In 2013, it surprised viewers when it drove a scooter to run a distance of 30 m in 20.75 seconds.

Norman jumped into the car after being prompted by owner Karen Cobb and placed his front paws on the steering wheel. It then uses its hind legs to propel the vehicle forward. This dog can also ride a bicycle with training wheels and skateboard.

In 2017, animal trainer Rachel Grylls and her Jack Russell dog Jessica broke the world record for the most jump rope jumps performed by a person and a dog in one minute, with 59 jumps. dance. Grylls has been training Jessica since she was a baby and practices for about 15 minutes a day.

The record for longest surf ever made by a dog was set in 2011. During a competition at Dog Beach in San Diego, California, USA, Abbie Girl stood on a board and surfed a wave 107 meters long. ,2 m.
