Stellantis Shatters Ford and GM with the 500-mile range of its all-electric 2025 RAM 1500 REV pickup

RAM’s first EV promises impressive range and towing performance, giving the folks in Ford and GM something to worry about.

Stellantis moved beyond teasing and speculation with the official roll-out of the 2025 RAM 1500 REV, an all-electric truck the company presented at the New York International Auto Show. Pledging a range of up to 500 miles and above-average towing capabilities, RAM’s first EV pickup truck is likely causing headaches across Detroit as the Ford F-150 Lightning and the upcoming Chevrolet Silverado EV fall short. Even the high-end Rivian R1T takes a back seat to some of RAM’s promises.

The RAM 1500 REV’s eye-opening 500-mile range comes from an optional (and massive) 229-kWh battery pack. In comparison, the F-150 Lightning’s optional extended-range battery has 131 kWh and delivers up to 300 miles of drivability. Yet, the 1500 REV’s base battery setup is still no slouch, with 168 kWh and a projected range of up to 350 miles. The automaker also teases that a 1500 REV XR with “class-shattering range” is forthcoming but didn’t elaborate.

“The all-electric Ram 1500 REV is a monumental milestone on our continued journey to offer the industry’s best electrified solutions and further fortifies our award-winning lineup,” said Mike Koval Jr., Ram brand CEO

RAM’s promotion of its all-electric pickup includes mention of the truck’s performance specs, including a 0-60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, which is on par with the Chevy Silverado EV (4.5 seconds) but behind the F-150 Lightning (4.0 seconds). Power for the RAM comes from an electric motor with an output of 654 horsepower and 620 lb-ft of torque.

At the same time, RAM touts that the 1500 REV can tow up to 14,000 pounds. This exceeds the 10,000-pound limit for the F-150 Lightning and standard Silverado EV. Chevy is promising a specially equipped Silverado EV version will be able to handle up to 20,000 pounds. The all-electric RAM’s payload capacity maxes out at 2,700 pounds.

Stellantis didn’t report complete charging details but says the 1500 REV can add 110 miles of range in 10 minutes via 800-volt DC fast charging at up to 350 kW.
