At the age of 18, Kobbie Mainoo skyrocketed to become a key factor in the MU midfield in the second half of the 2023/24 season.
According to football expert Fabrizio Romano, the new Ineos boss team is ready to increase Mainoo’s salary to make him a symbol of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s MU development project.
Romano posted a tweet: ” MU is accelerating contract extension negotiations with Kobbie Mainoo. They started in February and hope everything is completed this summer.
Ineos wants to make Mainoo the face of the new project at the club. The agreement will include salary increases and additional benefits.”
Currently, Kobbie Mainoo is receiving a salary of 20,000 pounds per week. That number will triple to 60,000 pounds/week when he signs a new contract with the Old Trafford team.
Mainoo has made 27 appearances for the Red Devils since the beginning of the season, scoring 3 goals and providing two assists.
The excellent performance also helped the 18-year-old boy be called up to the England team. Mainoo immediately debuted for the Three Lions and played well against Brazil and Belgium in a friendly match last month.
Ineos wants to continue promoting the club’s tradition, giving opportunities to young talents growing up from the academy.
In addition to Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Willy Kambwala are two other names that regularly appear on the MU first team this season.
