Travel activities at large airports can make many passengers tired and stressed. In Türkiye, Istanbul airport – one of the busiest airports in the world – is applying “pet therapy” to give passengers a feeling of relaxation before and after flights.Chien de zoothérapie pour touristes Alita à l'aéroport

Over the past 2 months, a “squad” of 5 adorable dogs and trainers have been present at several locations at Istanbul airport, mingling with passengers waiting for flights at the aviation center. served more than 76 million visitors last year.Un passager caresse l'un des cinq chiens de thérapie alors qu'ils parcourent l'aéroport d'Istanbul, à la recherche de passagers stressés pour tenter de calmer leurs nerfs avant de monter à bord de leur vol

This cute “squad” is working in rotation for 5 days and up to 3 hours/day.

Work schedules change depending on the personality, health and psychology of each member. The “pet squad” has undergone serious training, moving throughout domestic and international stations.

In the near future, two more members will join the squad after completing training.Du khách tương tác với một chú chó trị liệu giúp giảm căng thẳng trước khi lên chuyến bay tại Sân bay Istanbul, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, ngày 3/5. Ảnh: AFP

Veterinarian Volkan Arslan, who coordinated the above project, said they implemented a psychotherapy project with dogs to provide a better flying experience as well as help customers reduce stress.

According to airport management, the program has received positive feedback from passengers.

Dozens of airports in the US also implement therapy dog programs. This concept was born after the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001 with the goal of bringing relaxation and comfort to passengers stressed by air travel.

In addition to working at airports, therapy dogs are also trained to interact with people in hospitals, libraries and schools./.
