The rare alfine tortoise has a dragon-like appearance
Alignment in turtles is often different from turtles, mammals, or even humans. Alpine tortoises tend to have all the pigment in their bodies. So they can be yellow or red instead of just white.
Albinism is more common in sulcata tortoises.
Due to their special condition, these turtles often have difficult journeys in the wild. Despite their mystical appearance, life in the wild is not easy for these creatures. Like other albino species, these turtles often have problems with division.
This means they may have difficulty finding food and are potential predators. Likewise, yellow or red colors also make it difficult for them to blend in with their surroundings. So, predators can detect them more easily than normal turtles.
Therefore, they tend to have a relatively shorter lifespan than normal turtles.
As a result, albino turtles have a shorter lifespan than normal turtles. However, they are still luckier than other animals of the same family. This is because they have a hard shell that gives them extra protection that other animals with the same condition do not have. However, alpine animals are still rare, which makes them even more exotic.
